The small young white furred and orange patched she-cat stood in the entrance of the Medicine Cat Den. She forced to wake from her peaceful slumber to begin her hard day labor. Of course it was not all that hard truth be told. The season was New leaf and no major plague ran through the Clan, not like Leaf Bare. So Orangepaw didn't have to help out Birdflame as much. The most anyone ever came into the den for was to seek medicine for a hurt paw or a head attach, nothing but the normal. Orangepaw's normal day to day activities was helping Birdflame gather herbs and the normal lessons. Taking trips to the nursery to play with the kits, getting a nap in when Birdflame was not looking, and grabbing a fat mouse from the pile to fill her empty tummy.
Orangepaw took a step out of the den, her eyes closing tightly to block the bright sun that was midway to it's maximum high. As Orangepaw's brown eyes grew to understand the suns bright rays of light she opened her eyes more and gave them a few blinks. Looking around she notices the fresh-kill pile. Nothing else could catch her eyes any more then the delightful sigh of good prey. The orange and white she-cat walked cheerfully over to the pile and gave it two good long sniffs. Oh the smell was so good it was overwhelming. The she-cat gave her licks a good lick and found a nice fat mouse. Picking it up in her jaws she looked around for a place to rest while she ate. Finding a nice place in a sun she settled down on her belly and took a bite out of the mouse and began to chew slowly, savoring it's mercerizing taste.

Echostar stepped halfway out of his den, blinking his eyes once against the harsh sunlight. Wait ... sunlight? He leveled his gray eyes to the sun, then quickly looked down again. He usually never woke up to blinding sunlight. Which meant that he had overslept today -- a lot. Echostar usually woke up to the beautiful colors of the sunrise, if not the complete darkness of pre-dawn. But it was a slight change. He only hoped that he wouldn't develop a habit of rising so late. Then he would really start to worry.
The young leader shook the thought off, and the rest of his body followed his head and front paws out of his shady den. He paused slightly, wondering where he should go. Perhaps for a good hunt. Just then, his belly gave a large growl. With a wry smile, Echostar silently spoke to it. Well, of course, but not before getting something to eat. So he continued on his way, walking under the comforting sunlight of New-leaf over to the prey pile. It was rather small, hardly more than a scattering, but they really didn't need so much prey at the moment. There were barely any cats to feed anyways. Besides, he was also going hunting afterwards.
Echostar blinked once and searched the pile for a decent piece of prey, 'decent' meaning the kind he would find in leafbare. He didn't want to consume a fat, plump piece of prey that could've been more use to the first and only queen in the clan. Or to the others, like Owlkit, who only had Skycloud to help along to apprenticeship. He continued surveying the pile, until out of the corner of his eye, he saw a familiar pelt. Orangepaw. Ah, yes. The medicine cat apprentice. She certainly seemed to be enjoying her prey. " good ... morning, orangepaw. " He had a short debate with himself on the actual time, if it was actually still morning. Echostar gave her a slight nod in greeting.

Orangepaw looked up from her delightful mouse to a grey furred tom with ghost like silver eyes. This tom was known as Echostar, the brave leader of Willowclan. A role model in which all the kits looked up to, even the apprentices, and some of the warriors. Orangepaw gazed at the older and much more experienced tom with light brown curious eyes. True, he had the appearance of a leader, strong and eyes meant for battle. He had a grown and handsome look to him that made all the she-cat's eyes glow with fresh crushes. Still, Orangepaw just saw him as a tom. Just another soul walking the world tell his spirit left to the next Clan.
Orangepaw gave him a warm friendly smile that looked cute upon her young innocent white and orange face. Her light brown eyes were bright with joy and youth. "Oh Hello Echostar, it's a fine start for a day. I just woke up if you couldn't tell. Birdflame said I couldn't sleep anymore, but I don't really see the harm in me catching a few more minutes of sleep. The Clan is healthy and well and all I have to do is my training which won't take all day." Orangepaw's voice was youthful, a little high pitched, but smooth sounding like a ladies voice and as she laughed her face glowed in a way no words could explain and her laugh was sweet like honey and gentle like a mothers love.
