Echostar was crouched next ot the rushing river, the waves creating snow white foam that lined the shore. He could see fat, silvery bodies flitting in the dark blue water, but he had already hunted earlier and let the fish be. His silver eyes were staring at the rushing currents of the river, not focused on anything in particular. In fact, he wasn't actually seeing anything. He was thinking.
About the clan, mostly. He was glad for the newest queens, Littlefeather and Shadowheart. Although he hadn't met Shadowheart yet, he had met the other -- Littlefeather. It had had a rather awkward start. But that would probably be because he was ... well ... anti-social. No sugar-coating it. Echostar just wasn't good with other cats. He somehow made most of his conversations turn into an awkward event where both of them wanted to be somewhere else. He really did sometimes wonder how he was leader.
But his thoughts were interrupted by a sweet-sounding chirp above him. There was a sweeping willow tree right above him, creating shade, and on the top of one of it's flexible branches was a sparrow. The brown and white bird started a song, its voice ringing out in a clear and pure voice. Echostar got up from his crouching position and listened to it sing. It had been a while since he had heard a bird's song, even though they were long into new-leaf. This made it all the better.

Good day Echostar. I'm one of the new queens, Shadowheart. The fairly young Queen said as she approched him, and sat near him. How are things? She smiled as she watched the bird aswell.

Littlefeather was in a tree. On a low branch of course but still in a tree. She had taken a break from the nursery even though she had kit's due. She had met most cats in the clan. Skycloud Shadowheart Owlkit Orangepaw Birdflame and Echostar... Her and Echostar's meeting was interesting. Awkward but she still didn't mind how anti-social he was. He was a lot like her in many ways. She liked him as a friend and he was nice to her. She treated Orangepaw like her own daughter. She loved Orangepaw a lot. The queens were all sweet but wasn't the closest with any of them. She had only talked to Birdflame once and it was at the gathering where he met Shardfrost.... She shook him from her thoughts. Owlkit was adorable as ever of course.
She then spotted a familiar silver pelt. The pelt of Echostar. She watched him hunt birds. She was always better at hunting squirrels and birds. Nice catch, she purred from the tree she rested in as she watched him.

He jumped, startled, at the sound of the voice. Luckily, the bird had neither stopped singing nor had flown away. It continued singing, seemingly louder as if making sure the new arrival could hear it as well. " yes, yes. shadowheart. and ... it seems you know my name already. so, er, nice to meet you. " Oh, yes. His wonderful communicating skills pure in the work. Ha. Hopefully she wouldn't think him crazy.
Echostar blinked once at the black she-cat, then returned most of his attention towards the sparrow. But he was still tuned in to the figure next to him, ready to catch her reply to his awkward and not very composed words. This was always happening. Although he couldn't remember much of his past, he still knew that he was just as awkward as he was today. He didn't know if that was a relief, or worry.
The gray tom shrugged to himelf mentally. It didn't matter all that much. He was probably already known for his oh-so-wise words. Another cat hearing them wouldn't make that much of a difference. She probably already knew that he would be like this. And then his thoughts were interrupted again. Echostar looked up in surprise, to another tree. It was Littlefeather. He gave her a half-smile. " how many more cats are going to startle me today? " He shook his head.

Littlefeather giggled. Hello Shadowheart, she purred softly. She turned back to Echostar. Sorry I've been up here for a while watching cats pass me all day, she purred softly. She layed her head on her paws. Her tail sort of hanging off the tree branch as it moved from side to side.

" harrumph. well, couldn't you do that somewhere else? " He gave her a mock crossed look, easy to make with his narrow and cold appearance, and the mock part was sometimes forgotten in them. It was just part of him. Perhaps it was why he was so anti-social ... his pelt color? His eyes? No. That sounded just plain crazy. Stupid.
He really doubted that his personality was based on his looks. Then the world would be in chaos. Maybe not completely, but something close to that. If the world really was programmed that way, Echostar could only hope for many animals to be kind-looking. Fat chance. But the leader shook his head free of the straying thoughts, and got rid of his crossed look. The sparrow seemed to have fallen quiet, and its beady black eyes watched them with slight interest. It was a bit disconcerting.
Echostar looked the bird back in the eye, gray eyes meeting black. The little bird ruffled its wing feathers, then looked away from the bigger creature. He turned away from the bird, and immediately it started singing its song again.

Shadowheart gave a little chuckle at her leader. Hello there Littlefeather. Good to see you again. She said, looking up at the Queen that was lounging in the trees.

Littlefeather rolled her eyes. Oh stop being a party pooper, she teased gently. She stood up with ease. She was always at home in the trees. She jumped down from the tree with a thud but got back to her paws and shook out her fur and landed in front of him and smiled. Nice to see you again too, she purred to Shadowheart licking the she-cat on the ear.

God. The sparrow seemed to be immune to being startled, the opposite of him. As Littlefeather landed with a loud noise on the ground in front of him, Echostar slightly flinched, but faced her and gave her a playful shove. The sparrow was still singing, though as soft as ever. Then he turned from them and faced the river again. The current wasn't as strong now, it had calmed down.
He dipped a paw in the now gentle river, the fish immediately swimming away in a panicked motion. The water was a warm temperature, showing a clear difference from leafbare, when it had been freezing, but not frozen over. WillowClan was too warm for that.

Littlefeather was shoved playfully by Echostar. Oh you can't get away that easily, she purred. She tried to jump on him and pin him to the ground. A purr came from her throat as she tried to jump. (Ugh...lazy)

Shadowheart backed up closer to the water, but made sure she wasnt going to fall in. A pure rumbled deep in her throat, and she watched the bird her leader had spotted.

The leader allowed himself to be pinned underneath the pregnant queen, batting innocently at her, as a young kit would do with a play-mate. He hadn't relaxed for a while, and now that he was doing it, it was better than ever. Not that there wasn't plenty of time to relax; oh no, there was. It was just that he spent most of his time stressing over how unprepared he was for being a leader.
Echostar turned his head slightly to see Shadowheart, watching the still-singing sparrow. The little bird hopped from branch to branch, rustling the thin, blade-like leaves. Then he glanced up at Littlefeather again, staring at her eyes. " well ... you aren't planning are living on me, are you? " He grinned at her.

Littlefeather laughed at him and put her nose to his. Actually yes I was, she teased gently staring into his pale eyes. A purr rumbled out of her throat. She layed down on top of him. He was much bigger then her in height and length. She tucked her paws under her chest and kept purring.

He gave her a fake frown. " oh dear. so that means i'll have both you and your kits on me soon. hmm. " Echostar reached up to give her a lick on the cheek, which was a bit hard, considering the position that he was currently in. Then he relaxed underneath her, staring up at the blue sky. It was dotted with little white puffs -- clouds. The sun was mostly hidden by the willow tree above him, and left the lush green grass dappled with sunlight.
His pale gray tail moved back and forth, sweeping aside the fallen willow leaves, and creating a flattened path in the grass.

Littlefeather laughed. she sort of stumbled off of him but then stood up and shook her fur out. Their happy now, se meowed as if she was talking to Owlkit. She sat down next to him and shook her head slightly and laughed again.

The little Queen had decided she was going to be going now. She stood up and bowed her head, then started leaving.

Littlefeather saw Shadiwheart start to leave. She had forgotten she was there. She sighed. We'll talk later, she called and shrugged her shoulders.

Shadowheart nodded, and gave a little smile. See you later. She said, then padded away to other parts of the territory.
