The young kit blinked sleepily as she awoke in the nest of Hopeshine. She was surrounded by the hot fluffy down that was becoming uncomfortable for her. Slightly annoyed, the tuxedo got up and got up and ended up lying down on the pathway in the nursery. It wasn't quite comfortable without the moss, but it was better than being compressed between the fluff-balls. But despite the change of environment, her bright green eyes remained open, surveying the den. It didn't have many cats in it yet. It would eventually, she knew that. But not quite yet. She was old enough to know that this was only the beginning of OakClan, and there would be plenty more kits and other cats later. For now, she and her littermates were the only and the first. She slightly smiled at the thought, then glanced at the entrance. She wasn't wanted outside yet, she knew that, and she stayed inside.
Dragging herself up from her position, the kit yawned, revealing growing needle-sharp teeth, gleaming in the limited light of the nursery. Then she blinked again, and headed towards a shadow. She stepped inside of it, and the dark folded around her, welcoming her in. The only part visible of her now was her shining green eyes, and she was perfectly fine with that.

Hopeshine woke up to see Nightkit in the corner of shadows. She knew it was Nightkit because of her green eyes. She grabbed her by the scruff and put her on her back. If you didn't like the wet moss you should have told me, she purred quietly to her so not to wake the others.

The young kit hadn't seen her mother yet, for some odd and unknown reason, and let out a squeal of protest as she was suddenly picked up by some unknown force. She thrashed her hind legs about, half-attempting to make contact with whatever was moving her from her comfortable shadow that she had so hardly dragged herself to, out of the flood of suffocating fur. Her light green eyes flashed as she continued squirming, but her scruff was fastened tight in her mother's mouth.
Suddenly, she relaxed. It had finally reached to her to realize who it was that was carrying her. Hopeshine. The first scent that she had ever known, especially since she had been the first to be born. Her littermates had come second. The kit went limp, and let herself be placed on the furry back of her mother. " not the moss. " She muttered, her voice almost inaudible as she glanced down at her still sleeping siblings. It was a wonder to her how they could sleep through such heat, and in New-leaf.
Maybe they were different from her. Better at withstanding heat. Which occured as a bit odd to her, with the fact that her fur was actually unusually thin; at least compared to the other kits. Shaking her head, she blinked her shining orbs once, and crouched low to Hopeshine's back, staring at the flooding white patch that she was on. There was still a tiny piece of moss clinging to it, and she batted her white paw at it, a natural kit instinct to playing with moss and objects related to moss. Then she stopped, and glanced once again at her mother, who seemed to have no means in setting her down.

Nightkit it's alright it's just me, she meowed softly to her. She rubbed her tail along her kit's spine who was on her back. So why are you awake? she asked sweetly. She watched the rest of them sleep. The flood was bothering her as well. She would tell Dreamstar about it in the morning. She looked back at Nightkit waiting for an answer.
