Crescentkit slid out from in between her mother and litter mates. She loved them all and sat silently for a few moments listening to their breathing imagining their chests lifting up and down. It was fun to her making up her own little picture of what others looked like. In her eyes her mother was beautiful and all her litter mates had very interesting pelts. She softly sighed and backed away from the sleeping bunch. She turned around as her back bumped against the wall of the nursery. Crescentkit heard the rain droplets outside. She wondered why they looked so pretty to her. Yes, they looked very pretty to her, because every time a raindrop dropped it made a noise. A noise that added color to her sightless world. If she had explained it to anyone else she felt they would only get half of it. She walked to the entrance of the den not daring to go outside, but she was close enough so that she could "watch" each droplet.
Crescentkit smiled as the rain lit up her dark world. Each droplet was a vibration that made music. Laying down she laid her head on her paws and continued to listen. She would have not even heard anyone come up behind her, but she the young kit would not have cared. Licking her nose she turned to the sounds of her sleeping family and wondered if they could enjoy the beauty. She turned her head back choosing to ask her mother when she woke up.

Hopeshine awoke to see Cresentkit watching the rain. She made sure she didn't wake the others and padded over to her. Hello Cresentkit. You're up early, she meowed quietly laying down next to her kit. She watched the rain. It was beautiful in it's own way but unlike Cresentkit it wasn't the most beautiful thing she's ever seen.

Crescentkit turned her head towards the direction of her mothers voice. She listened as her mother's paw steps made her way next to her. Than she nodded and said "I can't miss the rain. It always wakes me up anyway." She turned her head back to the rain and said "Do you see it. I mean of course you see it, but can you hear it is what I mean." She smiled and laughed. "Maybe I hear things, because when ever I hear a raindrop drop. It looks like a pretty color, like I can see." She turned her head towards where her mother sat and said "I don't know if everyone can see it though and if you can't you can tell me the truth." She was not easily disappointed and being blind has put a different view on her life than usual kits.

Well I don't see the way you do, she meowed watching the rain carefully. Trying not to get wet. She liked water but not rain water. She looked down at her kit and curled her tail around her tiny body and pressed her close to her.
